Finished my loonboss on mangler squig! C&C as always. Pretty chuffed with this one
I've been a big fan of Dodgy Character on a Mangler Loonboss, makes them a lot more durable with all the Mortal wound shooting like Sentinels, Blood Stalkers, Longstrikes and Salamanders. The Loonboss on Mangler Squig has picked up two extra wounds and a much more reliable d6+10" move. The mount attacks are the same, but with a huge number of ways to improve them, and the moon-cutta of the Loonboss itself is now a real weapon. The old command ability is now a once per game 18" aura of +1 to wound for squigs which is: incredible.

Things got a lot more difficult at 2k. My Bounderz had done well so I added more of them, two Mangler Squigs, and a Loonboss on Mangler Squig. This gave me a rather fragile low-model-count army that despite being fast and hitting hard couldn't take down enough of an opposing 2,000 point army to survive a counterstrike.

The mangler squig models will be atleast twice the size of this and that wouldn't really be passable even in casual games. The Mangler squig model is two large squigs, one on top of the other. This isn't that, and is just a loonboss on giant cave squig. If you run it as a loonboss on mangler, then you're modelling for advantage.

1 Ishan451 • 3 yr. ago Thank you, very much. Sounds like the Cave Squig is to short, and the Manglers work with the Deff Dread. I guess if you use the Deff dread legs you could extend the size a bit that way. Maybe put some armor plating on the head of the squig, to make a weapon plaform manned with a grot/gobbo.
